Necromagical and Undead Freedom Act
This law was created in 1324 by Lich King Hovric. It stated that necromancy was legal as long as it was used for the betterment of civilization. It brought with it a huge resistance from the divine community, causing a civil war between a radical religious group known as the White Light and the UNT.
Right to Death Act
This law was created in 1328, shortly after the NUFA was ratified. It stated that a person had the right to refuse being reanimated as an undead laborer, and would be laid to rest however they wished. Due to the fact that everyone benefited from the undead workers, the majority of citizens immediately registered their bodies for use once they pass on.
Necromancy Nationalization Act
This law was signed in 1331 in response to the continuing attacks from the White Light. It barred the use of dark magic for personal use. Undead could only be created by official government approved necromancers, and only those in service to the people (government officials and scientists) would be allowed to become immortal undead by popular vote. The act also stated that the families of the deceased would be compensated for their relatives sacrifice for the betterment of society.
